Pre-Call Errors

Troubleshoot pre-call setup issues. Each message on the setup screen explains what happened and what to do next.

If your camera or microphone is blocked, the setup screen shows a clear, fully-readable message with the recovery steps:

  1. Allow camera and microphone access in your browser settings
  2. Reload the page
  3. If only one device was blocked, only that device shows as Blocked — the other stays available

If another app is holding your camera or microphone, you’ll see a plain-language message explaining it:

  1. Close any other app that might be using the device (a video call, camera, or recording app)
  2. Then try again — or switch to a different camera or microphone

If a device isn’t detected:

  1. Verify the device is connected
  2. Check your system settings
  3. Choose a different device from the picker

If the setup screen can’t load your meeting in time, it says the page is taking longer than expected and that your connection may be slow.

A Try Again button appears alongside it. Press it once your connection looks healthy — it retries in place, so you keep the meeting branding and don’t have to reload the page or re-grant camera and microphone access.

A slow connection is usually the cause, so it is worth switching to a stronger network before retrying.

If you can’t connect:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try a different browser
  3. Clear your cache and retry

Try Again only appears where retrying can actually help — a slow load or a dropped connection. It is deliberately hidden when the meeting has ended, the link has expired, or the meeting can’t be found, because those fail the same way every time. In those cases the screen explains what happened instead, and offers to take you onward.
