Custom Avatars
Section titled “Custom Avatars”Create an AI avatar based on your own likeness. Your custom avatar will look and sound like you during meetings, giving guests a more personal experience.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”BuzzTrail offers two types of avatars:
- Stock avatars — pre-built personas ready to use immediately (see Avatar Selection)
- Custom avatars — trained on your own video to match your appearance and voice
Creating a Custom Avatar
Section titled “Creating a Custom Avatar”The creation process uses a 5-step wizard. You’ll need about 5 minutes for recording, and training takes 4–6 hours.
Step 1: Introduction
Section titled “Step 1: Introduction”Review the requirements and tips for recording. You’ll need to record two short videos:
- A 2-minute training video (silent listening + speaking)
- A 10–30 second consent video (reading a short statement)
Step 2: Training Video
Section titled “Step 2: Training Video”Record a 2-minute continuous video in two parts:
First minute — Silent listening:
- Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed
- Maintain a steady head position with minimal movement
- Occasional closed-lip smiles are fine
Second minute — Speaking naturally:
- Start with a big smile, then speak about anything
- Show clear articulation and maintain eye contact
- Keep head and body movement minimal
Step 3: Consent Video
Section titled “Step 3: Consent Video”Record yourself reading the on-screen consent statement aloud. This is a short statement (10–30 seconds) confirming you authorize the creation of your AI avatar.
Step 4: Name and Review
Section titled “Step 4: Name and Review”- Enter a name for your avatar
- Review thumbnails of both recorded videos
- Click Start Training to submit
Step 5: Success
Section titled “Step 5: Success”Training begins automatically. You’ll see a confirmation with what to expect next.
Recording Tips
Section titled “Recording Tips”For the best results:
- Camera: Mount at eye level, at least 3 feet away. Use 1080p or higher resolution
- Lighting: Use diffuse, even lighting. Avoid backlighting or harsh shadows
- Background: Simple, static background with no distractions
- Audio: Use your device’s built-in microphone (avoid wireless earbuds)
- Appearance: Full face and neck visible, no hats or sunglasses, hair tucked behind ears
- Clothing: Clear contrast between your clothing and skin tone
Training Timeline
Section titled “Training Timeline”- Recording: ~5 minutes
- Training: 4–6 hours after submission
- Notification: You’ll receive an email when your avatar is ready (or if training failed)
Managing Custom Avatars
Section titled “Managing Custom Avatars”View and manage your custom avatars in Settings → Avatars → My Avatars tab:
- See all your custom avatars with their current status
- Active — ready to use in meetings
- Training — currently being processed
- Failed — training didn’t complete (you can try again)
- View creation and completion dates
To create another avatar, click Create Custom Avatar from the My Avatars tab.
